April started her career in the entertainment industry, more specifically the radio world. On-air talent, producer, promotions director — name the role and she filled it at one point or another. After this whirlwind road, she entered the agency world and navigated every aspect of advertising, from traditional media buying to then-newer digital methods. Everyone in the entertainment industry will tell you that it’s a tough road, but also one that’s always calling, so several years later April found her way back to it, this time honing on everything marketing. She led the marketing for all stadium and arena concerts in Jacksonville, FL, before moving into a broader role leading the marketing for all city events, from the largest festival in the city (Jacksonville Jazz Festival) to one of the biggest sporting events (Florida-Georgia Football). Currently, when April isn’t creating curiosity with Hanne, she serves as the Director of Marketing for the St. Augustine Amphitheatre, the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall and Sing Out Loud Festival.

April holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications with a concentration in Advertising from the University of North Florida, and a Master’s Degree in Hospitality Management: Mega Events from Florida International University

Hanne Volkaerts

Hanne’s path to the marketing world started as a teen, when she joined a team of peers experimenting with what we now call content creation. From Billy on the street interviews at festivals to reviews of theater plays and podcast-type produced interviews with artists, she touched it all and loved every minute of it. She continued her budding career as a freelance writer and reporter for several online and print publications, before entering the communications world at one of Belgium’s leading soccer clubs. From being hired to “help make their social media better” to being a jack-of-all-trades, she explored every angle of the communications field in-house, before ultimately entering the agency world. When her love for April brought Hanne from Belgium to America, she continued her career at the Dalton Agency, a full-service advertising agency. From social media content creator to PR pro, Hanne’s played many roles for the agency and currently serves as the Director of Social Media & Cross-Channel Marketing; leading marketing efforts for clients of all shapes and sizes, as well as heading up the agency’s social media team.

Hanne holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Linguistics, English, Dutch & Italian, and a Master’s Degree in Multilingual Communications from Ghent University, as well as linguistics and marketing certificates from the University of Ferrara and the University of South Florida.
